2017 trocken Rotwein "Herzschlag", Pfalz, Germany

Light earthy and dried vegetal notes on the nose, black berries, floral traces, hint of bacon. Straightforward, fairly polished, tart, dark fruit on the palate, light smoky oak and some ashes, very fine tannins, light acid bite, fairly persistent, still young, touch of dark chocolate, very light cedary traces, remains fairly light-bodied in spite of the high level of alcohol, not particularly deep or complex, but very well made, good to very good, slightly warm finish.
