2015 Malterdingen Spätburgunder trocken Alte Reben, Baden, Germany

Polished, yet still closed, somewhat mushroomy and floral nose of predominantly red berries and a little cherry with delicate floral notes reminiscent of herbs from Provence, earthy tones and hints of spices. Rather firm in the mouth, cool, rather tart fruit with herbal and ethereal notes, moderate wood, some acidity and taut, youthful, yet fine tannins, slightly smoky on the palate, persistent, some depth, earthy minerality in the background, spicy hints, very good. Must definitely mature
