The estate is located in the municipality Hainfeld (area Southern Wine Route) in the German wine-growing region palatinate
, It was founded by Johann Adam Koch, today it is run by Bernhard Koch, butler is Bernhard Schwab. The vineyards cover 42 hectares of vineyards in the layers Altenforst (Burrweiler), Bishop's Cross and bird's jump (Flemlingen), as well as chapel, Latvians and Ordergut (Hainfeld). They are planted with the white varieties Riesling, Sylvaner, Müller-Thurgau, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Scheurebe, Kerner, Rieslaner and Huxelrebe, as well as with the red varieties Pinot Noir, Black Riesling, Dornfelder, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. In winemaking, restrained use of modern technology in accordance with ancient traditions. Quality criteria are selective hand picking, ripe healthy berries, slow fermentation, and oak barrels in red wine.
