The estate is located in the community of Schweigen (area Southern Wine Route) in the German wine-growing region palatinate
on the border with Alsace. The first foundation stone was laid around 1900 with the purchase of vineyards in Wissembourg. Therefore, two-thirds of the vineyards are located on Alsatian soil. In addition to past livestock and arable farming, winegrowing in the family has existed for over 100 years, but it was not until 1971 that the marketing of bottled wine began.
