The winery is located in the municipality of Frickenhausen (Maindreieck area) in the German wine-growing region of
Franconia. The winery was established in 1976 through the marriage of two master winemakers, Reimund Stumpf and Carmen Bickel, who combined their two wineries. The vineyards cover nine hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites
Fischer and
Kapellenberg (Frickenhausen), as well as
Johannisberg and
Scharlachberg (Thüngersheim). They are planted with the white wine varieties Silvaner (30%), Riesling, Müller-Thurgau, Scheurebe, Rieslaner and Traminer, as well as the red wine varieties Spätburgunder, Portugieser, Domina and Cabernet Dorsa. Integrated, near-natural viticulture is consistently practised. The vinification takes place in the modern cellar building in Thüngersheim. The white wines are vinified exclusively in steel tanks, the red wines in barriques since 1994. There are three lines according to the
VDP classification model. Fine brandies (marc, William, plum) are also produced. Great emphasis is placed on combining wine and culinary experiences with special events. The winery is a member of the
VDP (Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates)
