Editor note: Nutty, earthy nose, black berries, partly dried bell peppers, dried herbs and cedary aromas, some dried tomatoes and black olives. Firmly structured dark, juicy, spicy fruit on the palate, earthy notes and some tobacco, light nutty, toasted oak, more prominent bell peppers, persistent and full-bodied, fairly prominent integrated tannins, dried herbs in the background, cedary traces, some cocoa and coffee, good grip, some depth, warm and creamy, very good juicy, spicy finish. Has matured very well.

Editor note: Fairly mature nose, preserved black berries and some red berries, dried flowers, peppery notes and mixed pickles, braised bell peppers and chili paste, smoky oak. Full-bodied, juicy on the palate, oaky and vegetal notes, more bell peppers, smoky oak and tobacco, fairly fine tannins, only slightly dusty and astringent, good persistence and has some depth, very good finish.

The wine region is in the south Hungary close to the border too Croatia and is named after the city of the same name (until 1999 the area was called Villány-Siklós). The vineyards cover around 2,300 hectares of vineyards. Under a continental climate with Mediterranean influences, with long, hot summers and cold winters, the vines grow on soils that are mainly limestone and dolomite with loess and loam layers. Around the city of Villány it is mainly the red wine varieties Cabernet Sauvignon. Cabernet Franc, Kékfrankos ( Blaufränkisch ), Kék Portugizi ( Blue Portuguese )...
