The traditional winery is located in Zöbing am Kamp in the wine-growing region Kamptal (Lower Austria). It was founded in 1896 by Josef Eder. Today it is owned by granddaughter Notburga Sedlmayr. At the turn of the millennium, a new orientation with oenological support by Jürgen von der Mark ( Master of Wine ). Since 2009, Ulrich Fiala (Managing Director), Oliver Fischer (Winemaker) and Marc Fernandez (Public Relation, International Business Relations) have been responsible for the operation.

The vineyards cover 27 hectares of vineyards in the vineyards Heiligenstein Eichelberg, Fahnberg, Hissberg, Tal, Käfertal and Seeberg, They are planted with the white varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Muscat Ottonel, Gelber Muskateller, Frühroter Veltliner , Neuburger and Müller-Thurgau, and with the red varieties Zweigelt, St. Laurent, Blauburger, Blauer Portugieser, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot , There is a gentle and natural management with yield reduction up to 75% to guarantee the best possible grape quality. It is as little as possible intervened in nature.

Multiple, rigorous checks and selection ensure that only healthy and fully ripe grapes are processed. The use of machines is largely avoided. The goal is to produce characterful wines, which Riede and vintage reflect. The fermentation takes place spontaneous with vineyard-owned yeasts. The white wines are matured in stainless steel tanks and the red wines according to ancient tradition in large oak barrels or barriques.
