The winery (Vulgoname "Koasasteffl") is located in the municipality German Haseldorf, large community Kloch
in the Austrian wine-growing region Volcano country Styria
, It is since the year 1970 by Fritz Frühwirth sen. guided. His son Fritz jun. graduated from the Höhere Bundeslehr- and Versuchsanstalt and practiced especially because of the Traminer expansion in French Alsace. He is responsible for the cellar industry. Attached is a tavern. The vineyards cover 11 hectares of vineyards in the vineyards Hochwarth, Klinzel, scratch, Rosenberg, Sunnleitn and Zepfer. They are planted to 80% with the white varieties Sauvignon Blanc, Scheurebe, Welschriesling, Pinot Blanc, Gewürztraminer, Morillon and Rivaner, as well as to 20% with the red varieties Zweigelt, Shiraz and Blaufränkisch
. New plantings require a high density of 4,000 to 5,000 vines per hectare. Due to the resulting vine stress the roots drift deeper into the ground and the result is lower yield with small, thick-skinned berries.
The white wines are developed predominantly classic Styrian, Morillon and Gewürztraminer and the red wines in oak barrels. The term "Koasasteffl" carry wines with strong and full-bodied structure, whose grapes are subjected to a strict selection, sometimes fermented in barriques and mature. The premium wines include the red wine cuvée "Roter Koasasteffl" (Zweigelt, Shiraz, Blaufränkisch
), the white wine cuvée "Querschnitt" (Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc), as well as the white wines Traminer Hochwarth, Sauvignon Blanc Sunleitn and Chardonnay Rosenberg and the specialty "Klöcher" Traminer. The winery is a member of the association Klöcher Traminer.
