2013 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Merlot Nussleiten, Alto Adige, Italy

Light earthy and dried vegetal notes on the nose, predominantly black berries and a few cherries, herbaceous traces, light smoky notes and undergrowth, tarry traces. Tart fruit on the palate, nutty, slightly sooty, spicy oak, fairly firm structure, fine youthful tannins, concentrated and persistent, salty traces in the background, full body, cedary traces, hint of tobacco, prominent earthy notes, still young, very light bitter touch, some depth, high alcohol, but also has cool notes, very good firm finish.
