2014 Pünderich Marienburg Riesling trocken Grosses Gewächs, Falkenlay, Mosel, Germany

Slightly charcoal-vegetable and nutty aroma of ripe citrus fruit and stone fruit with herbaceous nuances, hint of yellow spice and a hint of braised onions and mushrooms. Quite juicy, sweetish, somewhat developed fruit, vegetal tones, a hint of smoke and paraffin, fine, lively acidity, some grip, slightly muted on the palate, good substance and persistence, black berry nuances, a hint of tobacco, still has tension, but again also slightly charcoal notes, very good, firm finish. Like so many 14ers, it is developing faster than we originally expected, but is still enjoyable.
