The estate is located in the community Martinsthal in the German wine-growing region Rheingau, It looks back on a history and tradition of several hundred years. Thus, the cellars still used today date from the 17th century. In 1917, Jacob Diefenhardt acquired the property of Baron von Reichenau. Since that time, the winery is managed in the family estate; Today by the family Seyffardt. After studying in Geisenheim, one year in Stellenbosch (South Africa) as a winemaker and then six months at Bodega Etchart in Cafayate (Argentina) as a consultant Peter Seyffardt 1981 went into the family business. He has been run by him since 1998. In the meantime, daughter Julia has joined the company and now brings in her ideas. The predominantly steep vineyards cover nearly 17 hectares of vineyards in the layers Langenberg, Roedchen and Wildsau (Martinsthal), as well as Rothenberg (Rauenthal). They are exclusively planted with the two varieties Riesling (75%) and Pinot Noir (25%).
