, It was founded in 1935 by Dr. Max Heger founded, who ran it next to his doctor's office. His son Wolfgang Heger expanded it into the leading position in the 1960s. The founding grandson Joachim with his wife Silvia took over the business in 1992. The vineyards cover 26 hectares of vineyards in individual locations Schlossberg

(Ihringen) on volcanic weathering soils. They are planted with the white varieties Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Silvaner, Chardonnay, Muskateller, Scheurebe, Gewürztraminer and Viognier, as well as with the red varieties Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
The red wines undergo a maceration lasting between 18 and 25 days. Then they mature in barriques for 12 to 18 months. Selected white wines are also fermented and aged in barriques. In order to meet the high demand, Joachim Heger founded the "Joachim Heger Wine House" in 1986, for which vintner families who are friends supply grapes from loam and loess soils.
