2003 Achkarren Schlossberg Spätburgunder Spätlese, Baden, Germany

Medium-intense nose, preserved red berries, mushrooms, roasted notes. Quite juicy prserved fruit with some carbon dioxide, roasted and smoky oak, tannins still rough and astringent, delicate floral notes, good presence on the palate, not particularly deep, fruity with some oak on the finish.

Best to drink: 2006-2009. What our ratings mean
