2007 Achkarren Schlossberg Grauburgunder trocken Großes Gewächs ***, Baden, Germany

Markedly mature nose, nutty oak, vegetal notes, apple and citrus notes, some floor polish, tart notes of nutshells. Fairly polished fruit on the palate, fairly juicy and creamy, light acid bite, vegetal notes, unfortunately also has bitter phenolic notes, maturation notes, some depth, mineral notes in the background, very good finish, although the bitter maturation notes don't fit well with the actual stage of development. Appears not to be developing particularly well.
