2012 Merlot trocken Hades, Württemberg, Germany

Slightly muted nose, prominent oak, earthy, dried vegetal and peppery notes, partly overripe black berries, hint of rubber, soup greens and tobacco. Tart, full-bodied dark fruit on the palate, slightly brittle tannins, smoky, toasted oak, earthy notes, some more dried root vegetables, quite a rustic style, noticeable high alcohol and slightly rough, hint of bacon, has some substance, light salty mineral notes, rustic on the finish.
