2017 Westhofen Chardonnay trocken, Rheinhessen, Germany

Vegetal, herbaceous and nutty notes on the nose, hint of bacon, yellow fruit, hint of mushrooms, restrained oak, some sugar candy, peppery notes, light yellow spice, yeasty traces, hint of tobacco and light mineral notes. Ripe, juicy fruit on the palate, light smoky, spicy oak, touch of nut butter, mushrooms, chalky, salty mineral notes, elegant, lively acidity, ripe tannins provide noticeable grip, good persistence and substance, full-bodied, bjut also fresh and lively, still young, good depth, very good, firm, grippy finish.
