2008 trocken "Ortolan" Cuvée Prestige, Lower Austria/Niederösterreich, Austria

Firm nose with fairly prominent vegetal notes, pomaceous fruit and some lychee, tart dried herbs and some tobacco, light hint of bacon, mineral notes, light spicy oak. Quite full-bodied and creamy on the palate, prominent spicy oak, overripe pears, lychee, banana and mango, delicate hint of tobacco,good persistence and has some depth, harmonious, mineral traces in the background, very good finish.

Editor note: Concentrated nose, closed, apple and must pears, firm with mineral notes, some tobacco, light spicy oak. Still slightly closed on the palate, compact, polished pomaceous fruit, more mineral notes, light herbaceous as well as vegetal notes, very moderate use of oak, integrated acidity, lively and structured, full-bodied, needs some time, becomes more complex with aeration, long finish.
