The estate is located on the outskirts of Bad Dürkheim (Mittelhaardt-Deutsche Weinstrasse area) in the German wine-growing region palatinate, It was founded in 1976 by Inge and Egon Schmitt "Am Neuberg". After studying in Geisenheim was responsible for the cellar from 1996 onwards, son Jochen Schmitt and today runs the company with Ms. Corina, also a graduate in Geisenheim. The vinotheque and the barrique cellar in Mediterranean style are worth mentioning. The vineyards cover 16 hectares of vineyards in the individual layers Fronhof, Hochbenn, Nonnengarten, Spielberg and Steinberg (Bad Dürkheim), Herrenberg (Ungstein), Mandelgarten (Wachenheim), and Kreidkeller (Kallstadt). They are 55% with the white varieties Riesling (leading variety with 30%), Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Müller-Thurgau, Cabernet Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, and 45% with the red varieties Pinot Noir, Cabernet Mitos, Cabernet Sauvignon, Dornfelder, Merlot, Lagrein, Portugieser, Regent and St. Laurent planted.

The cultivation takes place according to the guidelines of the controlled environmentally friendly viticulture. In the sense of a natural management, for example rape after this Press immediately brought back into the vineyard soil, so that fertilization with natural only every three to five years composts is required. The red wines mature according to the classic maceration depending on the desired wine style in barriques or traditionally in large wooden barrels. Almost without exception, the white wines are fermented in pure stainless steel tanks with pure yeast, filtered very gently and largely with screw cap bottled. The premium wines include the white wine Ungsteiner Herrenberg Riesling dry (6 months of lees), the red wine cuvée DUCA XI (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Mitos - up to 30 months of barrique) and the red wine Cabernet Sauvignon dry (barrique). Around 140,000 bottles of wine are produced annually. Exports have so far been made to the Netherlands and Denmark.
