2014 trocken montez, Pfalz, Germany

Tart nose, still slightly muted, touch of wilted flowers, earthy and spicy notes, some undergrowth, touch of soup greens, restrained red and black berries. Ripe, fairly warm, juicy fruit on the palate, light nutty, toasted, spicy oak, light peppery notes, dried flowers, hint of licorice, fairly prominent tannins, light bite, medium body and persistence, noticeable warm alcohol, slightly jammy, ethereal notes in the background, hint of tobacco and tar, good to very good warm finish.
