2012 Wachau Ried Postaller Zweigelt trocken, Lower Austria/Niederösterreich, Austria

Tart, old and undergrowthy, also nutty, earthy and somewhat dried-herbal aroma of black berries and a little cherry with spicy notes and liquorice. Ripe, partly preserved dark fruit, nutty, bacony and dried herbal aromas, smoky wood, persistent on the palate, grippy, yet crumbly tannins, a lot of power and some warmth, a little tar in the background, good to very good, firm, tart and smoky-woody finish with herbal and spicy tones.
