2014 Nimburg-Bottingen Steingrube Sauvignon Blanc trocken ***, Baden, Germany

Fairly shy, closed, firm nose, very yeasty, delicate oak, some nut butter and vegetal notes, green pomaceous and some citrus fruit, gooseberries, coffee and fennel seeds. Cool, firm, slightly polished dry fruit on the palate, light spicy oak, viper's grass and other root vegetables, white pepper and salty notes, toasted, nutty oak, lively acidity, slightly etheral, persistent, good substance, still young, still slightly astringent on a very good finish.
