2015 Nimburg-Bottingen Steingrube Chardonnay trocken ***, Baden, Germany

Cool, fairly shy nose, elegant vegetal notes, pomaceous fruit and a hint of citrus, some yellow melon, moderate light spicy oak, light floral and mineral traces in the background. Fairly firm, but also slightly creamy ripe, polished fruit on the palate, light spicy oak, yeasty and salty mineral notes, slightly smoky, good substance and persistence, has bite and grip, still very young, some depth, peppery traces, hint of green bacon, more minerally notes, elegant, juicy and creamy on a very good, grippy finish.
