The estate is located in the community of Bad Dürkheim (area Mittelhaardt-German Wine Route) in the German wine-growing region palatinate, The Classicist manor house was built in 1785 and is a listed building. Since then, the estate has always been owned by the family and is now managed in the ninth generation by Johann Fitz. The winery regularly hosts classical concerts, art exhibitions and wine festivals. The vineyards cover 21 hectares of vineyards in the individual layers Abtsfronhof, fox coat, Uplifting, Michel Berg, Knight garden and Spielberg (Bad Dürkheim), as well Herrenberg (Ungstein). They are with the white wine varieties Riesling (50%), Gewurztraminer, Pinot Blanc ( Pinot Blanc ) Chardonnay and Pinot Gris ( Pinot gris ), as well as with the red wines Blue Portuguese, Pinot Noir ( Pinot Noir ) Dornfelder and Cabernet Dorsa planted.
Around 70% of the wines are dry, 15% semi-dry and 15% sweet or expanded. After gentle pressing and slower fermentation the wines mature according to their character stainless steel or in a wooden barrel. The best red wines mature in French for 18 to 24 months from Allier. The best dry white wines are considered Big plant marketed. Noble sweet lace will come with one label from 1860 equipped. This won the first prize one of the DLG organized competition. The house also houses the oldest sparkling wine cellar in Rhineland-Palatinate. This was founded in 1837 by an ancestor.
