The estate is located in the municipality of Winningen (Burg Cochem area) in the German wine-growing region Moselle
, The parent company of the Heddesdorff property, built by the von Limbach family around 950 years ago, is one of the oldest buildings in Winning. The estate has been family-owned since 1424 and has been run as a mixed agricultural enterprise for centuries. Only under the father of the current owner Andreas von Canal did the complete conversion to viticulture take place. A guest house with three apartments is connected. The vineyards cover 5.4 hectares of vineyards in most of the very steep single layers of the Domgarten, Röttgen
, They are planted exclusively with the Riesling. After fermentation of the musts with pure yeast, the wines remain in the stainless steel tanks. The primary aim is to preserve the primary fruit aromas through the reductive expansion. In suitable years, noble sweet quality wines such as Trockenbeerenauslese and Eiswein are also produced. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines, wine vinegars and fine brandies (yeast, pomace) are also produced.
