2014 Lauf Gut Alsenhof Spätburgunder trocken, Baden, Germany

Developed, slightly warm, nutty, light roasted and bitter chocolate-spicy oak on the nose, ripe, partly dried mixed berries and plums, leathery-animalic notes and coffee grounds. Ripe, again slightly warm, developed fruit, roasted, bitter chocolate and coffee-spicy oak, notes reminiscent of stewed aubergines and mushrooms, crumbly-sandy, ripe, somewhat drying tannins, good to very good finish. Still easy to drink, but the slightly thickened fruit gives way faster than the wood.
