2014 Schweigen Steinwingert Pinot Noir trocken VDP.Erste Lage, Pfalz, Germany

Initially lively and fresh on the nose, berries and cherries, floral traces, elegant peppery spice, fairly prominent mineral notes, with aeration then shows animal and earthy notes, bacon and mushrooms. Firm, tart, juicy, ripe but fairly cool fruit on the palate, light meaty and earthy notes, smoky oak, fresh as well as dried vegetal aromas, persistent, some bite, elegant tannic grip, fairly full-bodied, but also quite polished and cool, toasted traces, some depth, salty mineral notes, noticeable peppery notes, very good juicy, spicy finish, shows more prominent oak with aeration. Needs time to mature.
