The estate is located in the community Oestrich-Winkel in the German wine-growing region Rheingau, The history of the traditional family goes back to the 13th century. The foundation stone for today's operation was laid in 1773 by Philipp Anton Allendorf. In 1955, the vineyards covered just 1.5 hectares. With today about 70 hectares, it is the largest family-run wine-growing business in the Rheingau. Since 2015, the restaurant "Brentanohaus", which was built in the center of Winkel in 1751, is managed by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749-1832) and Jacob (1785-1863) and Wilhelm Grimm (1786-1859) were guests.

The winery is run by Ulrich Allendorf and his sister Christine Schönleber. As managing director is Josef Schönleber (brother-in-law of the owner) and responsible as butler Max Schönleber. The vineyards are located in the individual layers Hinterkirch and Höllenberg ( Assmannshausen ) Mount Roseneck. Mountain Rottland (Rüdesheim), as well as Dachsberg. Hasensprung and Jesuitengarten (Corner). They are with the white wine varieties Riesling, Pinot Gris ( Pinot Gris ) Chardonnay and Gewurztraminer, as well as with the red wines Pinot Noir ( Pinot Noir ) and black thing ( Pinot Meunier ) planted.

The wines are according to the VDP classification in the quality lines Treasury Wines (selected vineyard wines of special quality, gold capsule), vineyard wines (a maximum of three top locations from each district, Riesling or Pinot Noir), local wines (only one district, Riesling or Pinot Noir) and estate wines (all varieties, all locations) marketed. The Great plants are Rieslings from the VDP-classified Great locations. The flagship of the house is the red wine "Quercus Superior Pinot Noir" matured in 100% new oak barrels Trockenbeerenauslese and Eiswein vinified. There are also bottles fermented sect, brandies (wine, pomace, wild raspberry, pear) and grape juice offered.

A special feature is the "Wein.Erlebnis.Welt", with which winery visitors can get to know the variety and breadth of the flavors and flavors of the various wines during special wine tastings. As another special feature, vines or their yields can be leased for five or ten years.
