2016 Verrenberg Verrenberg Spätburgunder VDP.Ortswein trocken, Württemberg, Germany

Firm, fairly cool nose, still slightly reductive, predominantly red berry fruit, delicate smoky notes with a hint of bacon and tobacco. Youthful, tart, juicy fruit on the palate, light nutty oak, hint of mushrooms and earthy traces, integrated tannins, fairly persistent, light mineral notes in the background, light metallic touch, floral traces, good to very good finish.
