2007 Hallgarten Schönhell Pinot Noir trocken R, Rheingau, Germany

Somewhat developed, slightly smoky-woody and dried-vegetable nose with red and black berry aromas, a bit of dried herbs and bacon fat. Restrained red and black fruit in the mouth, bitter chocolaty and bacony wood, some coffee, present, a little drying and sandy tannin and some acid bite, good persistence, mineral tones, persistent, good substance, also bacony-smoky and chocolaty on the finish.
