2009 Assmannshausen Höllenberg Spätburgunder Erstes Gewächs trocken, Rheingau, Germany

Slightly dried floral scent of red berries and cassis and herbal nuances. Quite juicy in the mouth, clear, polished, ripe fruit with very fine tannin and a delicate bite, good persistence, has power and a certain alcohol warmth, but also cooling mineral and also minty tones, seems lighter overall than it is, certain depth, still rather young looking, shows origin, very good, juicy finish with nutty and again slightly minty spice. Again considerably more convincing than the last sample two years ago
