2005 Mittelburgenland trocken Cablot, Burgenland, Austria

Translate to English Etwas animalischer und deutlich rauchig-holzwürziger Duft nach reifen schwarzen Beeren mit rußigen und getrocknet-pflanzlichen Aromen sowie etwas erdigen Tönen. Klare, geschliffene, herb-saftige Frucht, wieder rußig-rauchiges Holz, merklicher Säurebiss und feines, dabei recht präsentes Tannin, nachhaltig am Gaumen, trotz des hohen Alkohols verhältnismäßig kühl, sehr guter, herb-saftiger Abgang mit viel Biss. Entwickelt sich erstaunlich langsam und hat immernoch Zukunft.

Editor note: Black berries on the nose, mineral and some animal notes, hint of dried herbs, smoky and sooty notes. Rather cool dark fruit on the palate, elegant acid bite, more prominent smoky and sooty oak, slightly astringent tannins, persistent, mineral backbone, hint of soup greens, medium substance and concentration, more smoky and sooty oak on a good finish.

Editor note: Medium-intense nose with ripe black berries and some cherries, smoky and roasted notes, dark chocolate, light cedary notes. Elegantly juicy fruit, light acid bite, quite dominant smoky roasted oak, chocolate, some cinnamon, medium-fine, very slightly astringent tannins, cool mineral traces in the background, persistent, medium depth, slightly astringent on an otherwise very good finish.
