The winery is located in the municipality Monzernheim (area Wonnegau) in the German wine-growing region Rheinhessen
, The history of the traditional family goes back to the year 1463. She lived for a long time mainly from agriculture, only around 1900, bottled wines. On this cornerstone, the bottle wine marketing was expanded in the 1960s. The historic cross vault was built around 1800, here is the wine shop. The brick cellar dates from 1907. The Art Nouveau elements on the house can be found on the bottle label again. Today the operation is managed by Paul and Sebastian Geil, who are supported by the parents Ulrich and Sigrid Geil.
The vineyards cover 18 hectares of vineyards in the individual layers Goldberg (Monzernheim), Morstein
(Westhofen), as well Hasensprung
(Bechtheim). They are planted with the white varieties Riesling, Silvaner, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Huxelrebe, as well as with the red varieties Pinot Noir, St. Laurent, Regent, Dornfelder and Portuguese.
