2001 Rauenthal Nonnenberg Riesling, Rheingau, Germany

Intense minerals and spices with prominent apple and peach aromas. Crystal clear, tightly woven fruit with tremendous mineral character, crisp acidity, firm structure, considerable depth and body, very well bred, cool style, easily recognisable even when tasted blind, still quite unready to drink, with a very, very long finish. Will probably be completely undrinkable in a few months time, and will only begin to show its true potential around 2006.
