2005 trocken Cavallo, Burgenland, Austria

Shy nose, delicate red berries, some plummy notes develop with aeration, slightly dominated by green wood. Oak also quite prominent on the palate, dark cherries, plums and red berries, has some substance and depth, chocolate in the background, fairly prominent fine tannins, very good finish, but strongly dominated by oak, the oak robs the wine of much of its appeal.
