2007 trocken Marco Polo, Burgenland, Austria

Smoky, toasted, nutty notes on the nose, ripe black berries, hint of tobacco, a few red berries. Ripe, tart, juicy, predominantly dark fruit on the palate, more prominent toasted oak, some sandy tannins, persistent, full-bodied, also has some bite, peppery spice in the background, sooty and salty traces, very good tart finish with fairly prominent oak. The oak is more evident now than it was when the wine was young.
