The wines keep constant high level and are usually the best in their respective category in the area. Weaknesses, there is little, but can occur in difficult vintages. However, this must be balanced in good years with particularly compelling assortments so that an operation can hold the status. In most cases you can blindly buy.

The estate is located in the Ilsfeld-Schozach municipality (Württembergisch Unterland area) in the German wine-growing region Wuerttemberg, The family was first mentioned as "Freiherrren von Sturmfeder" in 987. The history of viticulture began in 1396 when Count Eberhard von Württemberg gave Knight Friedrich Sturmfeder a "plow field in Schozacher Holz" as a fief for loyal service. Until the 19th century, only small amounts of wine were made for the family's needs. It was only when the individual vineyard “Schozacher Roter Berg” came into possession in the 19th century that professional viticulture began. After his apprenticeship as a winegrower, Kilian Graf von Bentzel-Sturmfeder gained practical experience in several wineries in the United States and Austria, He has been managing the company since 1995 and has also been the owner since 2001. The responsible cellar master is Holger Matz ( Weinsberg graduate ). The "Landhaus Sturmfeder-Hotel Garni" belongs to the company.

The vineyards cover 15 hectares of vines in a single location Red mountain (Schozach), as well as Rappen (Ilsfeld). They are planted 30% with the white varieties Riesling, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc and Gewürztraminer, and 70% with the red varieties Pinot Noir, Lemberger ( Blaufränkisch ), St. Laurent, Cabernet Dorsa, Velvet Red and Acolon. The main part are the Burgundersorten, Cultivation, expansion, bottling and marketing are the sole responsibility of the winery. The management takes place after ecological Vine and soil care guidelines. The harvest takes place at the optimal time with the aim of one physiological maturity,

The red wines mature in wooden barrels of various sizes of 225 ( ) up to 6,000 liters in the vaulted cellar carved into the rock in 1711. The principle of the house “less is more” applies to particularly high-quality wines. The white wines are vinified in a light, fruity way and are intended for quick enjoyment. The wines are produced in three lines. The top quality "ROTER BERG" includes top vintages with late harvest / selection quality. The red wines are mashing ever fermented and expanded in wooden barrels. The top cuvée is called "Grand Phillipp". The "STURMFEDER" line are quality and predicate wines that are developed according to type. The basis is the GUTSWEINE line with wines from the liter bottle, sorted by type. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines are also produced. In addition, company events are organized, as well as wine tastings, cellar tours, vineyard tours and sensors seminars offered.
