The estate is located in the municipality of Leiwen in the German wine-growing region Moselle
, It was founded in 1624 and is now owned by the Gerhard and Doris Grans families. The vineyard area comprises ten hectares of vineyards in the individual layers Laurentiuslay
(Trittenheim) and Goldtröpfchen
(Piesport). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling (85%), Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc. The reading is generally very late. During the vinification process, the grapes are carefully selected in the vineyard, carefully processed, cool, slow fermentation and long yeast storage. Only two dry wines are produced each year. This is the Gutsriesling and a selection from very old, sometimes root-proof vines from Laurentiuslay. The only semi-dry wine is the “Catherina” cuvée. The rest is in the sweet and sweet area. Bottle-fermented Riesling sparkling wines and pomace brandies are also produced. The winery is a member of VDP
(Association of German quality wine estates).
