The winery is located in the municipality of Schliengen-Obereggenen (Markgräflerland area) in the German wine-growing region of Baden. It was founded in 2017 by Maximilian Greiner. After training as a wine cooper and then studying viticulture and oenology in Geisenheim, the family's former fruit-growing business was restructured into a direct-marketing winery. Small parts of the land of his father's fruit farm are still cultivated and the fruit is used, among other things, in the in-house distillery for the distillation of fine spirits (Williams pears, plums, mirabelles, yeast, marc)

The vineyards cover one hectare in the single vineyard sites Steingässle (Feuerbach), Paradies (Feldberg-Gennenbach), Sonnenstück (Obereggenen), as well as Sonnenstück in the Sonnhohle vineyard (Mauchen). They are planted with the white wine varieties Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay and Chasselas, as well as the red wine varieties Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Biodynamic cultivation is carried out according to certified DEMETER rules. In order to improve the fertility of the soil and the vitality of the vines, consistent greening management is applied, as well as biodynamic preparations, specially produced composts and homeopathic teas.

Greiner Maximilian - Weinkeller

A non-invasive principle with as little intervention as possible (as much as necessary, as little as possible) applies to the cellar work. Grape musts are obtained by gentle pressing with a basket press, which can be further processed without further filtration or must treatment. Fermentation takes place spontaneously using the vineyard's own yeasts. The majority of the wines undergo a second, malolactic fermentation after the alcoholic fermentation. Each vintage and each harvest is treated individually. Each wine is matured in wooden barrels. Care is taken to ensure that the wines do not lose their varietal typicity through the use of wood, but that this is enhanced. The wines are kept on the lees for a long time, some for several years. No fining of any kind is used. The premium wines of the house are Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir Steinkreuz and Pinot Noir Vulkan. Bottle-fermented sparkling wine is also produced.
