2016 Süd-Steiermark Ried Sulz Sauvignon Blanc trocken STK Erste Lage, Styria/Steiermark, Austria

Firm, delicately smoky and tart vegetal nose with yellow fruity aromas, white and black berry tones, blackcurrant leaves and a hint of tobacco. Tart, tightly knit fruit with nutty, dried-vegetable to herbaceous and again slightly tobacco flavours, fine, quite lively acidity, delicate grip, has power but also a certain coolness, persistent on the palate, again black berry notes and blackcurrant leaves, clear minerality in the background, light nutty hints, floral traces, good depth and substance, smoky traces, has polish and precision, very good, firm finish with a tart aftertaste.

Editor note: Vegetal and light earthy notes on the nose, reminiscent of root vegetables, yellow and green fruit, light nutty notes, hint of tobacco, peppery traces. Ripe, bone dry fruit on the palate, prominent root vegetables, pepper, herbs and salty notes, persistent, elegant acidity, gripping tannins, good substance and persistence, full body, light hint of bacon, prominent celery, still young, good depth, very good, firm, fairly complex finish.
