2016 Cabernet Franc "Unplugged", Burgenland, Austria

Bubbly, somewhat smoky and woody aroma of ripe black berries and a little braised red pepper with tobacco notes, pepper, some black cherries, hints of tar and mineral tones. Ripe, juicy, partly preserved fruit with lots of smoky and spicy wood, coffee on the palate, a little tar, roasted red pepper again, dense and persistent on the palate, lots of power, peppery flavours and clearly juniper, a hint of ash, crumbly, sandy, slightly drying tannin, some depth, very good finish with spicy wood flavours, some compote fruit and juniper again
