2007 Blaufränkisch trocken C 4, Burgenland, Austria

Prominent toasted, spicy oak on the nose, ripe black and some red berries, hint of tobacco, earthy notes and some dark spice. Ripe, juicy, fairly polished fruit on the palate, light acid bite, fairly fine tannins, still slightly astringent, more prominent oak, nutty and toasted aromas, full body, light spice in the background, hint of coffee, herbaceous and salty traces, good persistence, very good firm, juicy finish. Has clearly shown a positive development, the oak is now well integrated.

Editor note: Fairly warm, slightly jammy nose, mixed berries, spicy oak, toasted notes, vegetal and dried floral traces. Full-bodied and jammy on the palate, slightly smooth fruit, toasted, spicy oak, sugar candy, slightly astringent tannins, creamy with noticeable alcohol, but not particularly deep, herbaceous notes in the background, astringent on an otherwise good finish.
