2014 Mittelburgenland DAC Blaufränkisch Reserve trocken Biiri, Burgenland, Austria

Ethereal notes on the nose, tarry traces, hint of tobacco, blackberries and cherries, pepper and a whiff of eucalyptus, coffee and herbaceous traces. Clear, tart, cool dark fruit on the palate, vegetal and earthy notes, peppery traces, tannins still slightly sandy, persistent, very slightly rough, herbaceous notes, firm grip on a very good finish.

Editor note: Clear nose, light nutty and peppery notes, ripe red and black berries and some cherries, dried floral nots, hint of leather, coconut and new oak. Ripe, dark, fairly firm and juicy fruit on the palate, lively, elegant acidity, youthful but ripe tannins, peppery spice and herbaceous aromas, some toasted notes and cocoa, light acid bite, good substance and persistence, still young, quite polished, herbaceous and light salty notes, some bite on a very good firm, juicy finish.
