2013 Iphofen Spätburgunder trocken "S", Franconia/Franken, Germany

Dried flowers and some undergrowth on the nose, red berries, earthy notes, hint of root vegetables, cardamom, hint of cocoa, mushrooms and tobacco. Ripe, fairly juicy and cool, partly preserved red berry fruit on the palate, hint of sugar candy, toasted notes and some tobacco, hint of dried and deep-fried sweet basil, salty mineral notes, integrated tannins, delicate acid bite, floral traces, slightly creamy, but also has grip, becomes softer with aeration, and shows more pronounced tobacco, very slightly jammy on a very good juicy finish with light herbs and spices.
