The winery is located in the municipality Gumpoldskirchen
in the wine region Thermenregion
(Lower Austria). It has been run by the family since 1790. Harald Zierer sr. built it from two hectares to its current size in the 1960s. A Buschenschank is connected. Ing. Harald Zierer jr. guided. The vineyards cover 12 hectares of vineyards in the Badenerweg vineyards, Eichkogel
, Hausberg, Hohleisl, Mitterwiese, Katzbühel, Rasslerin, Satzing and Sonnenberg. They are planted 80% with the white varieties Rotgipfler, Zierfandler, Chardonnay, Riesling, Welschriesling and Pinot Blanc, and 20% with the red varieties Zweigelt, Pinot Noir, Blauer Portugieser, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah.
Depending on the variety and type of wine, the wines are aged in stainless steel tanks, large wooden barrels or in French barriques. Premium wines include Rotgipfler Reserve, Chardonnay Grande Reserve and Merlot Grande Cuvée (Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah). In years that are suitable for the weather, sweet predicate wines such as dried berries are also pressed. Around 50,000 bottles of wine are produced annually. Fine brandies are also produced. The winery is a member of the two wine associations Zierfandlerwelt and Gumpoldskirchner Weinmacher.
