2017 Burrweiler Schäwer Riesling Grosses Gewächs trocken, Pfalz, Germany

Slightly developed, nutty, dried-vegetable, herbal and almost a little tobacco fragrance with, spinach, pine nuts as well as yellow fruity and almost a little smoky mineral notes. Very lightly muted fruit with nutty aromas, herbal and floral tones, a little candy and tannin, fine acidity, good persistence, tart minerality in the background, very good, quite firm finish, just a touch drying again. Does not quite deliver what it promised in its youth.

Editor note: Slightly tart nose, light nutty oak, partly dried vegetal and herbaceous notes, light yellow fruit, floral traces, fairly prominent mineral notes. Fairly cool fruit on the palate, prominent yeasty notes, light vegetal, herbaceous and floral notes, both sweetish and tart, elegant acidity, still very slightly muted, persistent, mineral notes, hint of yellow spice, very good firm, fairly juicy and grippy finish. Needs time to mature.
