2002 Winningen Röttgen Riesling erste Lage, Mosel, Germany

Very intense nose characterised by cool mineral notes, aromas of peach, pear and some pineapple in the background. Clean, taut and brilliant in the mouth, elegantly proportioned acidity, the impression on the palate is again characterised by prominent but very elegant mineral notes, Havana tobacco in the background, delicately sweet, long finish. This wine will appear increasingly sweet during the coming months, while the terroir with its gripping mineral character will come to the fore again from about mid-2005.
