2002 Winningen Uhlen Riesling erste Lage, "R", Mosel, Germany

Deep, concentrated and complex in the nose, strong mineral character, firmly structured, with herbal and floral aromas as well as partly candied citrus fruit, peach and pineapple. Highly concentrated and elegantly juicy in the mouth, with elegant acidity and lots of rather cool mineral notes, appears closed, tremendously persistent on the palate, complex, with intense tobacco notes, gains in depth, persistence and complexity through aeration, great length. Definitely needs time to mature.

Editor note: Very firmly structured, citrus and peach aromas with herbal and mineral notes. In the mouth, too, very cool style, elegant, lively acidity, mineral notes totally dominate the palate, great tension and power, very persistent, undeveloped, but with time the beautifully pure fruit comes to the fore, long finish with tobacco and mineral notes. Needs time to mature.
