The estate is located in the commune of Hochheim in the German wine-growing region Rheingau, The family business was taken over in 1984 by Annette and Emmerich Himmel as a pure barrel wine business, which then moved from the old town of Hochheim to the outskirts. As a result, a quality-oriented restructuring was carried out and placed on marketing bottled wine. The vineyards cover 5.5 hectares of vineyards in the Hochheimer individual locations hell. Kirchenstück. Reichestal and stone. They are planted with 80% Riesling, 10% Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir each. There is a natural, environmentally friendly management with no deep pesticides and unnecessary interventions in the natural life cycle of the vines. The aim is to produce healthy grapes of special quality through consistent vineyard work. Some of the musts are fermented and expanded spontaneously or with pure yeast, mostly in stainless steel tanks. The Pinot Noir is aged in barriques for 12 to 15 months. The range includes around 35 wines, mostly in the predicate range from dry to sweet. All wines have been closed with alternative closures since the 2001 vintage. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines are also produced.
