The wines keep constant high level and are usually the best in their respective category in the area. Weaknesses, there is little, but can occur in difficult vintages. However, this must be balanced in good years with particularly compelling assortments so that an operation can hold the status. In most cases you can blindly buy.

The estate is located in the municipality of Herbolzheim-Tutschfelden (Breisgau area) in the German wine-growing region to bathe, The story began in 1999 with the 50th birthday of Horst Holub, for whom he was given an area of seven ares of Pinot Noir, the first harvest resulted in a single barrel. Several plots were added each year, so that the area under vines is now 1.2 hectares. These are on the individual layers Bienenberg (Malterdingen), Herrenberg (Nordweiler), Kaiserberg (Herbolzheim) and Steinhalde (Amoltern). In addition to Pinot Noir, they are stocked with a little Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc. The quality criteria in the vineyard are natural greening, intensive foliage care, yield reduction and hand picking at the optimal time. The Pinot Blanc are partly matured in steel tanks and partly after eight months in barriques, the Pinot Gris after 12 months in barriques. The Pinot Noir matures in new barriques for 18 months according to the BSA.
