Editor note: Tart, deep, firm nose, still slightly reductive, intense mineral notes, light herbaceous aromas, elegant, rather restrained citrus and stone fruit, hint of dark berries, moss, hint of tobacco, yeasty traces. Concenctrated, ripe, very juicy fruit on the palate, herbaceous notes, hint of bacon and tobacco, lively acidity, good persistence and grip, full body and good substance, hint of black berries in the background, excellent depth, very slightly sweetish and creamy, complex, light peppery notes, more herbaceous notes and some bacon on a very good, long, expressive finish.
Best to drink: 2020-2030+

The German growing area Franconia used to be in the three main triangle areas, Mainviereck and Steigerwald with 23 large layers and 216 individual layers. In November 2011 a new regulation was decided by the members of the Franconian Wine Association. The three old areas will be replaced by 12 much smaller ones. In the medium to long term, these will also replace the 23 large locations. The old areas once played a role in the predominant marketing of Franconian table wine, which they had lost for a long time.
